Have Questions About Reflexology Training?
Good. We have the answers!
What kind of Reflexology do you teach?
We offer certifications and continuing education classes in Foot, Hand, Face, and Ear Reflexology over Zoom and in-person.
What are the benefits of each kind of Reflexology?
Working on the feet, hands, face, and ears you reach all of the reflex areas that correspond to every part of the body, and:
- Because the feet are largest, it is easier to reach the reflex areas to all of the organs and glands.
- People often say the hands are the most relaxing.
- Because the face is in close proximity to the brain, it’s very powerful.
- The ears are most effective for pain management.
It’s ideal to learn and work on all – the feet, hands, face, and ears – for the best results.
How is your approach to Reflexology different than others?
Laura Norman Holistic Reflexology works with more than the reflex areas on the feet, hands, face, and ears, we work with the whole person – physically mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
How is your program Holistic?
In addition to Laura Norman’s unique reflexology techniques and protocols, we incorporate Positive Thinking, Affirmative Speaking, Visualization, Meditation, Symbolism of health conditions, Music/Sound Therapy, Aromatherapy, Feng Shui, Color Therapy, Neurolinguistic Programming, Law of Attraction, Ho’oponopono, and many other alternative approaches.
What are the benefits of Laura Norman Holistic Reflexology?
In our holistic approach, we go beyond just the physical aspects of wellness by also addressing the recipient’s mental, emotional, and spiritual needs as well.
Clients of Laura Norman-trained Holistic reflexologists tell us their sessions:
- Are deeply relaxing
- Improve their circulation
- Cleanse/detoxify impurities
- Increase their energy and focus
- leave them feeling balanced in body, mind, and spirit
Who takes your classes?
We have people from all walks of life – corporate execs, artists, writers, musicians, dancers, carpenters, nail techs – anyone who is passionate about helping themselves, family and friends, are seeking a more fulfilling, rewarding, nurturing career where they can create their own hours while they contribute to the welfare of others.
Many health professionals also take our classes to add to their services and income and to earn continuing education hours, including massage therapists, physical therapists, acupuncturists, chiropractors, chiropractic assistants, medical technicians, nurses, nail techs, and many others.
When are your classes offered?
We offer (all times Eastern):
Weekend classes – mostly on Saturdays and Sundays from 10:30a to 5:30p. Two of the classes are Friday evening from 6:30p to 9:30p and Saturday and Sunday from 10:30a to 6p.
Evening classes – Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:30p to 9:30p. A few of the classes are 6p-10p.
Morning classes – Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:30a to 1:30p.
Where do you teach your classes?
Since Covid, for both our students’ and instructors’ safety, we have transitioned to mostly live, online, Zoom classes. And our students love it.
We have had small numbers of masked students come in person when there is a Zoom class. By the fall of 2022, we plan to re-start in-person classes in NYC, Central Connecticut, and Boynton Beach, FL, as well as continue to offer classes over Zoom. Sign up for our newsletter HERE so we can keep you posted on the exact locations and class dates.
Can I really learn Reflexology over Zoom?
We’ve been training and certifying students over Zoom for nearly two years, and we’ve seen just how effective this method of learning can be.
We’ve had many students who started in our in-person classes and then switched to our Zoom classes. They’ve told us that they came to prefer the Zoom classes and learned better over Zoom. Here’s why:
- you study from the comfort of your own home
- no travel time
- no travel/hotel expenses
- every student has a front-row seat as the instructor demos
- the instructor can see your work more clearly and give feedback as they guide you step-by-step
- you get to practice on someone you know
- you get recordings of your one-on-one tutorials with your instructor
- you feel very connected and supported
- you can move among our morning/evening/weekend classes
Can I sign up for one class at a time or do I have to register for the whole program in foot hand, face, and ear Reflexology?
You can register for one class at a time or pay upfront for our Premier Professional Certification Program, which includes our Foot, Hand, Face, and Ear Reflexology Certifications, and receive tremendous savings (see more below). You can also move among our morning, evening, and weekend programs to best fit your schedule.
Most of our students register for one or more of our Certifications. Some start with our Foot and Hand Reflexology or Foot Reflexology Part 1 class to “get their feet wet”. They usually continue on to the rest of the Foot Reflexology Certification Classes. Then they take our Face and Ear Reflexology Certification and our Hand Reflexology Certification.
Does the order/sequence of taking the feet, hands, face, and ears matter?
You can take the classes in any order. The only requirement is you have to take Foot Reflexology Part 1 before going on to Foot Part 2, Foot Part 3, or our Mastery Class.
What savings do you offer when I know I’m ready to do the whole program and pay upfront?
You can save up to $1500 when you pay for our 334-hour Premier Professional Certification Program Package in advance. The $3,995 fee includes all class tuitions, 11 hours of private tutorials with your instructor, and much more. Your upfront payment covers everything required for Certification – no surprises.
Or choose our 225-hour Professional Foot Certification Program Package and pay in advance for over $800 in savings. As with our Premier Program, your upfront payment of $2,895 covers everything required for Foot Reflexology Certification.
Are there any other fees?
Our Continuing Education Classes, optional home study videos such as our Intro to Foot and Hand, Hand, and Face Reflexology streaming videos, and our ReflexAromatherapy Products with essential oils, including our mist, soak, creams and powder, are available separately.
What Continuing Education classes do you offer?
We offer over 80 hours of continuing education classes on a variety of holistic topics. Visit our Continuing Education page to learn more.
Does your program provide a license to practice? Can I practice Reflexology professionally and charge for sessions?
Through our programs, you earn Certifications in Laura Norman Holistic Reflexology. Students with our Certifications can practice in 34 states. Some states require a massage therapy license to practice (More Info). Be sure to check your state laws, and contact the appropriate Board in your state to confirm current requirements.
Students receive a strong foundation with our comprehensive programs, and some then go on to massage school. Instructors at several massage schools our students attend are impressed by how much better prepared our graduates are to study massage, and that our graduates find it easy after taking our program.
Because our program is very holistically oriented, working with people physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually, ministers are able to practice this form of healing within the scope of their ministerial certificate.
What can I expect to earn doing Holistic Reflexology sessions?
Session fees vary from state to state and from city to city. The going rate for massage or facials in your area is a good benchmark for your Reflexology sessions.
You may be able to charge a bit more because you’ve invested in additional training. Plus, the service you’ll be offering is unique and in demand.
Are you an Approved CE provider for licensed massage therapists?
Yes, we are Approved providers for any state that recognizes NCBMTB, including Florida and New York.
Are you a CE provider for the American Reflexology Certification Board (ARCB)?
Yes, when you are already certified with ARCB you are eligible to receive our CE credits.
Can I apply to ARCB for their Certification after taking your program?
Yes, when you complete our Online Certification program plus at least 20 hours of in-person training, you qualify to apply for ARCB Certification. To fulfill this requirement we plan to offer in-person classes as part of our Certification Program starting in Fall 2022.
Can I apply to the Reflexology Association of America (RAA) for membership after taking your program?
Yes, you can. RAA offers two levels of membership:
Associate Membership – for all reflexology students, and for practitioners with less than 300 hours of training in foot, hand, and/or ear reflexology education
Professional Membership – requires 300 hours of foot, hand, and/or ear reflexology education, “…60% of which is delivered live in a classroom setting with instructor interaction, including supervised practicum in hands-on techniques.”
If you have already taken our 334-hour Premier Professional Reflexology Certification Training Program in-person or our Zoom Reflexology Classes with an additional 180 hours of in-person classes, you are eligible to apply for Professional Membership.
How large are your classes?
We purposefully keep our classes relatively small to give individual attention to our students. Classes average anywhere from 10 to 20 students and, for our Zoom classes, we usually have a second instructor participate.
How can I launch a career in Reflexology?
- Begin by completing our Premier Professional Reflexology Certification Program or one or more of our Laura Norman Foot, Hand, Face, and Ear Holistic Reflexology Certifications.
